My first position after leaving the Navy was as a contract software developer for Microsoft Corp. I worked out of their Vancouver office creating the User Interface for HSBC ATM machines.

The project was done completely in Visual Basic 6. I loved working with VB6 and it kept me gainfully employed for several years. It was my favourite development tool until C# was introduced in 2000.
